This isn't unexpected. Everybody and their grandmother appeals even if they have no valid case. Being granted the oral argument was expected as it is a complicated case. It's not at all a new trial. It's just a 20 minute argument per defendant to supplement the written briefs already submitted in the fall.
It's a three judge panel. As always, no cameras in federal court but audio recordings are available for oral arguments on the 6th Circuit website. It won't be anything we haven't read and heard a billion times but I will still listen to it especially since it will only be 1 hr. 20 minutes in total.
If anyone was able to view the oral arguments today, please post the outcomes? Love the write up in the papers... Christine Beatty is singing the blues again. Living well beyond her means, hasn't paid restitution in a year... Soon as she was released from probation, she stopped paying anything. Is in debt up to her eyeballs, owes the IRS some big money in back taxes... How does someone in the position, get approved for loans and rentals that they can't afford to pay on in the first place??? Anyone???

I hope the judge sees right through this and say, "No way...the conviction stands"

I see the Kwamster has filed his appeal. Wonder where this is going to go?
